Nature
Mt. Iwawaki
Mt. Iwawaki (897.7m) cradles Kimitoge Pass and faces Mt. Kongo. Its summit is covered in an expansive meadow (8 ha), attracting a large number of visitors during every season. The area of the mountain known as Kitora is a treasure trove of thatch plants that grow pretty flowers in the fall. Softly blowing in the wind, they soften the hearts of hikers passing through. And the trail up to the summit goes through “Iwawaki no mori” (the Forest of Iwawaki) and “Iwawaki no mori Shikisai-kan” , which is at the midst of the trail, is available for hikers to rest.
