Amanosan Kongoji Temple
This temple is said to be established by Gyoki at the order of Emperor Shomu in the Nara Period. It is also said that Kukai practiced esoteric Buddhism here. As the temple was open to women, it is also known by the name Nyonin Koya (Mt. Koya for women), Amano Angu.
